Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By inviting Vinyl to a Discord server, or by using any of its commands, you agree to these Terms of Service and to Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you're setting Vinyl up for a server, you're confirming you have the authority to do so on behalf of that server.

The Service

Vinyl is a Discord bot providing moderation, auto-moderation, verification, leveling with rank cards and badges, custom embeds, giveaways, welcome and leave messages, autoresponders, a ticket system, translation, and a handful of lighthearted extras. Vinyl is provided as-is and free to use. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time as the bot continues to develop.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Vinyl to:

• Violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to exploit, spam, or overload the bot or its underlying infrastructure
• Circumvent moderation actions, verification, or server rules using the bot's features
• Store or distribute illegal content through commands like custom embeds or autoresponders

Server administrators are responsible for how Vinyl's configurable features (custom embeds, autoresponders, welcome and leave messages, tickets) are used within their own server.

Tickets & Moderation Logs

The ticket system creates private channels visible to the ticket opener, configured support roles, and server staff with the appropriate permissions. Moderation actions taken through Vinyl (warnings, kicks, bans, timeouts, case notes) are logged and stored per server for accountability. Server staff can view this history through Vinyl's moderation commands at any time.

Availability

Vinyl is maintained on a best-effort basis. Uptime is not guaranteed, and the bot may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside of our control (including Discord API outages).

Limitation of Liability

Vinyl is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages, data loss, moderation errors, or other issues arising from the use of the bot, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Termination

Server administrators can remove Vinyl from their server at any time. We reserve the right to restrict or block access to the bot for any server or user found to be violating these terms or Discord's own policies.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as Vinyl's features change. Continued use of the bot after an update means you accept the revised terms. Significant changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top.
